This past summer, Just Ingredients launched their line of popcorn salts...something I didn't realize was missing from our pantry! I had to get the variety pack and so glad I did because I would not have guessed right if buying my traditional go-to's a la carte. Although they're all tasty, I definitely have my favorites. Keep reading for all the different ways I've used the popcorn salts and my tasting notes.
Want just plain salt (you can see my stash)? I like this microplastic free salt (affiliate code: SB10).
Popcorn Salt Tasting Notes
Movie Theater Butter - This really does smell like movie theater popcorn. My hubby really likes this one!
Cheddar Cheese - This flavor is tasty and definitely true to the name. The color is so vibrant, too.
Garlic Butter - This tastes good and smells great but is way to strong for me on popcorn. We have found lots of ways to use this in cooking dinner, especially when we ran out of purple stripe garlic! However, I think it's perfect in seafood.
Caramel Corn - I really thought this was going to be my favorite flavor. Turns out, it's not. The coconut sugar flavor is too strong for me. It's not bad, I just don't prefer that flavor, but I know plenty of people that this is their favorite!
Parmesan Cheese - And the surprise, this was my favorite. From just the names and from tasting alone, I would not have thought this would be my favorite. When we taste tested, we did each of them plain and on popcorn. This is by far my favorite and the one I've ordered several refill packets of. I like it on pasta, as a faux alfredo sauce, on popcorn, seasoning Costco's grassfed sous vide steak, and much more! See more about that below!
Ways I've Used The Popcorn Salts
Of course, the most common way we've used the popcorn salt is atop popcorn! We like the whirley pop and still add butter, but sprinkle the popcorn salt of choice throughout the bowl.
I've also sprinkled it atop pasta as a last minute seasoning idea. (post coming soon)
Refill Packets
I am so glad these come in refill package options. The glass shaker bottle works well. I can easily pour the refill packet in the glass container vs. buying another shaker bottle full. It's less wasteful and less expensive!
Have you tried any or all the flavors? Tell me your favorite in the comments! Keep up with what I'm cooking in my stories.
