Who doesn't love Blood Orange (BO - haha)?! I distinctly remember the first time I was introduced to it. It's really a citrus for all the senses. The color, the smell, the taste--yummm to all of it!
What I didn't know until recently is that there's a blood orange essential oil. What?! I know, right?! And even better, the place I found it has it marked as one of their safe-for-culinary oils! So, if the smell of it in the diffuser wasn't enough, it can be used in the kitchen! I made a very simple tonic with it.
Here's How I Did It:
1 drop of blood orange oil
1 glass of plain sparkling water
Sometimes I add a little ginger to give it a kick.
Swirl the glass, and that's it! And it is so refreshing! The blood orange flavor comes through really evenly, and works nicely with the bubbles in the water.
So, now that you can make your own sparkling water at home and easily amp it up like this--all in less than a minute--who needs those store-bought brands of flavored sparkling waters and tonics with the sneakily hidden bad ingredients? Not me!
Do you remember the first time you had a blood orange?! Tell me in the comments and as always, #GetSatiated!
