Out of necessity for my husband, I got headphones. If you know me, you may know that I like listening to things loud. I'm also a chronic song repeater. Oh, and I listen to podcasts and audio books on double speed. ...See the reason I needed to get headphones? If you're not laughing, I don't know how you're not, lol! I am not a fan of the earbuds. I always catch the string on doorknobs, in zippers, pull them out of my head when I'm sweeping, or talking with my hands and it's frustrating! My ear canals also get very tender wearing them even for short periods of time. So, I tried out two luxurious headphones my husband suggested that met my criteria. As much as I dislike the cord, I will not use wireless headphones, so that was the first requirement. Being over-the-ear (vs. on ear) was another important quality. I tried out two and overall, I'd like to mesh a few of the features of the two together to make the perfect headphones, but keep reading so see what I went with.
Headphones Review
Master + Dynamic MW50+ - I have to admit, I love the color. Brown leather is my favorite and so luxurious! The cups are made from lambskin leather and the headband is cowhide leather. They adjust on my head really easily and have comfortable ear cups. These also have the option to go on-ear (but that's not a function I'd personally choose).
Philips FidelioL3 Flagship - The case these came in was beautiful! They have the best headphone packaging I've ever seen and met my criteria, of course. My favorite thing about them is that they're made with Scottish heritage breed leather from grass-fed cows by a sustainable luxury leather company that has been around since 1840--plus I have a soft spot for Scotland after visiting circa 2016.
The Results
I ended up picking the brown leather, Master + Dynamic headphones. No, not because of the color, but due to one very important quality that was not in my list of requirements, but will be next time, haha! The black ones required charging, even though I wasn't using the noise cancelling or wireless options. With the brown ones, I can put them on and use with no charging at all. They're relatively comfortable (ideally, I'd rather not wear any, but I understand why the request was made, LOL) and I can plug them into my phone or computer and off I go, singing at the top of my lungs. That was another fun conversation we had...did you know not everyone who listens to music sings while they listen??? That was a new one for me, hahahah!!! Wow, this has to be my funniest post in awhile! I still get my arm caught in the wire, but that's going to happen unless I go wireless and that's NOT going to happen. No wi-frying my brain! And of course, headphones are not the only (nor the most important) thing for a happy marriage!
