Strawberry Banana Smoothie, With a Twist


The combo of strawberry banana takes me back to my childhood. I don't quite know why. Maybe the taste of baby food? Tutti frutti? I don't know, but there's something comforting about it, and it is delicious!


Here's how I make my smoothie

  • Start with a date base (see my post all about how to make this, and make sure you've prepared it hours beforehand. Also, check out the date night post to see the difference in the different types of dates. I have fallen in love with medjools, and with those, I can use less than the other common US variety).

  • Add 1 cup of fresh picked organic strawberries

  • 1-2 frozen bananas

  • Blend until smooth


Enjoy! This is normally the perfect size recipe for me and my hubby to each have a large glass. So, it'd easily make a serving size for four with smaller glasses. Oh, the date base is the twist, if you were wondering!
