magnesium flakes and epsom salts on counter

There are so many forms and ways to use magnesium. Here are some of my favorites. Keep in mind, my content is for entertainment only!

Magnesium Bicarbonate

This is my favorite and easiest way to get magnesium on the daily. I share in detail how I make it here. Once I have it made, I like drinking a glass full in the AM. I get this brand (affiliate code: SB10).

Tri-Mag

Okay, so this is another way for me to easily take magnesium, it's just in a pill form vs. a liquid. I like having it in my rotation because it has magnesium in "three unique forms of highly-absorbed magnesium to ensure maximum absorption of this important macromineral. Most magnesium supplements use only a single source of magnesium, which can easily overwhelm a single pathway of absorption and limit uptake" (as stated from the product website description). I share more specifically about the different forms of magnesium in Tri-Mag here. I have an affiliate code on checkout for her line of supplements: SB10 that can be used on checkout.

Epsom Salt

Magnesium is in the form of magnesium sulfate when we're talking epsom salts (cover page picture). It's what I grew up with taking a bath in for sore muscles from sports and working out. I have found many different kinds you can read about here but was really excited to find the large bag of fragrance free epsom salts at Costco - there was a two pack of six pounds each for a great deal! I use these liberally, so I like the bulk buy. Plus, I really have to mention how great their resealable velcro bag is!

Magnesium Flakes

I share about these a bit here but these are typically my go to (cover page picture). I like soaking my feet (and sometimes in a bath) with the flakes but especially after traveling (any kind of travel). In the picture below I also added some rose petals I had into the soaking basin. I've used these flakes and also the liquid magnesium chloride I mention below in making homemade whipped tallow.

Magnesium Chloride

I like this spray after putting oils on my skin (like this balm) and when I remember to, before hopping in the shower. I know the directions on a lot of the them say to apply after a shower, but I personally don't like how it feels on my skin all day. I let it sit for 15 minutes and then hop in the shower. It can burn, especially if it's been awhile since I've used it. However, since it's absorbed through the skin, I don't notice the same affect on my digestive system as when I take magnesium internally. It looks like the brand I used to get it from is out of stock for the foreseeable future.

What's your favorite form of magnesium? If there's one I need to try, tell me in the comments! Keep up with what I'm soaking, spraying, and taking in my stories.
